Wondermind, the mental fitness platform started by Selena Gomez has just received some major backing from tennis superstar Serena Williams.
The Only Murders in the Building actress and mental health advocate has announced Serena’s venture capital firm (Serena Ventures) has invested $5 million in the multimedia company.
“This is only the beginning for @officialwondermind and our mission to democratise and de-stigmatise mental health,” Selena shares on Instagram.

The platform, which Selena started with her mother Mandy Teefey and journalist Daniella Pierson, provides free resources and expert-backed treatment methods to support anyone struggling with their mental health. There’s also promise of podcasts, TV series, daily articles, books and more and the ultimate aim is to make it okay to talk about mental illness – which is so important, given 1 in 5 of us in Australia experience some form of mental ill health, every year. (And these were stats obtained before the pandemic hit.)
Serena, who recently announced she would be “evolving away from tennis” to focus on other projects which matter to her, says she’s “proud to be an investor in @letswondermind– changing the way we deal with mental health.”
