WATCH: The New ‘Barbie’ Trailer is Here!

The new Barbie trailer is here and it’s giving us an even bigger, more hilarious glimpse into the world of Margot Robbie’s Barbie and Ryan Gosling’s Ken!

The clip shared by Warner Bros. Pictures begins by teasing Barbie’s perfect like in Barbie Land where every day “is the best day ever!” That is, until she decides to ask her fellow Barbie friends at a dance party whether they “ever think about dying?”

We then see Barbie share some of the bizarre things that have been happening in her life lately, like suddenly finding her heels are no longer at an angle…but flat!

Another Barbie, played by Kate McKinnon urges Margot’s Barbie to travel the real world to find “the truth about the universe” which sets her off onto a new adventure with Ken into the world of humans! There are fights, jail time, some colourful rollerskating moments and more!

We also get a sneak peek of America Ferrera’s character who appears to work at Mattel, and Will Ferrell’s character, the CEO of Mattel, whose aim is to “get this doll back in a box!”

“To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken,” the official logline for the movie reads.

The film, directed by Greta Gerwig, has an all-star cast including Simu Liu, Dua Lipa, Nicola Coughlan, Michael Cera, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Ncuti Gatwa, Issa Rae, Helen Mirren and more. It’s due out in Australian cinemas July 20 and internationally, July 21, 2023.

Warner Bros. Pictures previously released an equally entertaining teaser trailer which you can watch here.
