Paulina Porizkova Is Embracing Her “Nearly 56 Years” Of Life …And It’s Beautiful

If you grew up in the 80’s, you’ll remember Paulina Porizkova, the divine beauty who graced the Estée Lauder ads and became the first woman from Central Europe to land the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue. (Apparently she was also a judge on America’s Next Top Model cycles 10 -12 but I was too busy being sleep-deprived from having children to notice.)

Paulina, who is now 55 and has a following of over 253,000 on Instagram, regularly uses her platform to represent the beauty of growing older and it’s so damn refreshing.

Have you ever noticed how invisible we are in the media after the age of 30? We simply …don’t…exist! And if we do, we are often represented by people muchhhhhh younger than us.

But in Paulina’s latest Insta post, she celebrates herself, just as she is. And it’s beautiful.

“Here I am – truly naked on this first day of 2021,” she begins, sharing a natural photo of herself with her grey hair and fine lines clearly on display.

“No makeup, no filters, no anything in my face but the nearly fifty-six years of life,” she continues.

“Did you know that the saying, ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ is in fact not true? Scientifically proven. Most of us get destroyed under extreme pressure. It rearranges us to fear. Like carbon, the origins of matter for diamonds, the possibility to be hewn a diamond from a disaster is possible – but unlikely – given all the other materials that exist in the same soil. It is however, held up as an example for all of us – because it’s a good quick hopeful fix. I believe there is no such thing as a quick easy fix. Good things don’t always come easy.”

And just like that, Paulina reminds us how succumbing to the extreme pressure to look a certain way can be so destructive. How embracing who we are is what matters.

“Beautiful, wise woman. Thank you for being a guiding light,” commented author Tara Moss.

“Your soul is made of light and shining bright,” commented model Petra Nemcova.

“Thank you. Beautiful the most in spirit and body,” shared actress Selma Blair.

Check out some of these photos Paulina’s been sharing on her social pages and maybe you’ll embrace the journey, just like she does:
