Well this is huge – Kim Cattrall is returning to our screens as Samantha Jones in ‘And Just Like That’ Season 2!
Yes, Samantha-one-of-the-greatest-characters-in-the-history-of-television-Jones!
The official Twitter account for Max’s Sex and the City spinoff has confirmed the news, posting “Secret’s out!!” while sharing a link to an article about the exciting casting. A spokesperson for Max has also confirmed Kim Cattrall’s return to NBC News.
No other details have been shared just yet – we don’t know how Kim’s character will be involved or how many episodes she’ll take part in.
What we do know is that Season 2 is set to premiere on June 22 with 11 episodes heading our way. (It also happens to be the same day Kim’s new Netflix series Glamorous is being released!)

While all of Kim’s Sex and the City cast mates returned for the And Just Like That spinoff in Season 1, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, Kim did not. Her character’s absence was explained by saying she was in London, running her PR firm. There was also a moment in the final episode where Sarah Jessica’s Carrie texted Samantha so they could meet up for a cocktail in Paris and spread Big’s ashes.
Earlier this year, the show shared an equally welcome casting surprise – that John Corbett would be returning as Carrie’s ex-fiancé, Aidan Shaw. In announcing the news, the series shared photos of Carrie and Aidan holding hands while power walking down a street in New York City together – both dressed very stylishly, of course.

The last time we saw either Samantha or Aidan’s characters on screen was way, way, way back when the Sex and the City 2 movie was released in 2010!
