Modern Family star and cookbook author Jesse Tyler Ferguson has had some skin cancer removed from the side of his neck – but don’t worry, he’s fine.
And he’s using the opportunity to remind us all how important it is to stay on top of our skin checks.

In a post on Instagram, the actor shared a photo of himself in a clinic looking pretty serious with a bandage just below his right ear.
“Reminder to stay up to date on your dermatology checks…especially if you’re fair like me,” he tells his 2.9 million followers.
“I always wind up getting something taken from me, every time I go. Today, they took a bit of skin cancer that they found. Don’t worry, I got it early and I’m gonna be just fine.”

He adds “and wear sunscreen! SPF 1000 for me!”
